Is there any migration between package and product? Which substances have potential to pose toxicological risks? What force is required for easy opening of the package? The specialists at our film-analysis lab are ready to answer these questions and many others.
The Wipak Group operates a state-of-the-art film-analysis lab. We measure permeability by oxygen, we test the puncture-resistance, and we analyze whether the layer structure meets product requirements. For this, we cooperate closely with our quality management and development departments, along with – in special cases – external institutions. For our customers, this means security, reliability, and time savings.
To guarantee that we supply tasteless and odorless films, determination of solvent residues is a standard procedure for any printing ink Wipak uses. This procedure is monitored and supported by means of our sensor panel. Also, we test multilayer films that have an oxygen barrier at set intervals, to make sure that the functional layers still meet specifications.
The following are among our services:
- Migration measurements
- Permeation measurements
(tests of oxygen- and hydrogen-vapor permeability)
- Determination of solvent residues and layer thicknesses
- Mechanical testing
- Microbiological tests
- IR spectroscopy
- Sensor-based measurements
- Amine determination
