Collaborative sustainability projects

Wipak partners with leading organisations, recyclers, and industry alliances to accelerate circular packaging solutions. These partnerships aren’t just names — they deliver practical benefits for your packaging:

  • Shared expertise on design-for-recycling and traceability
  • Participation in industry-wide initiatives driving circularity
  • Support for digital product passports and growing data requirements

Our key initiatives

At Wipak, we know no single company can solve the packaging challenge alone.

That’s why we work hand-in-hand with companies along the value chain, participate in initiatives, industry associations and development projects to make circularity a reality.

R-Cycle

Digital Product Passports for Sustainable Plastics

R-Cycle is an association promoting the global standardisation of digital passports for sustainable plastics. Understanding the need of data exchange and transparency along the entire lifecycle of a plastics, a digital product passport provides information about material composition and recyclability, enabling traceability across the supply chain and thus supports circularity.

What does it mean for you?

  • High transparency on material sourcing and end-of-life
  • Easier data sharing along the value chain by use of digital product passports
  • Standardised data sets will reduce your administrative burden

Healthcare Plastics Recycling Counsil (HPRC)

Advancing Circularity in Medical Packaging

HPRC is a private, technical consortium of healthcare, recycling, and packaging companies working to enable the safe, practical recycling of healthcare plastics. Through collaborative research, pilot projects in clinical settings, and design-for-recyclability guidance (e.g., for non-hazardous packaging and sterilisation materials), HPRC tackles real-world barriers to collection, sorting, and processing across the healthcare value chain.

How do you benefit?

  • Gain clear, practical design-for-recyclability guidance for medical-grade packaging and sterile barrier systems
  • Leverage proven tools and pilot learnings to set up viable take-back and recycling pathways with hospitals and recyclers
  • Strengthen compliance and ESG commitments with a science-based, cross-industry approach to healthcare plastic circularity
