Global Collaboration: Wipak x GSTI

Global Collaboration: Wipak x GSTI

Sustainability has never been an accessory to our business. It is the backbone of Horizon 2030 and the filter for every decision we make. We are transforming our materials, investing in new capabilities, reducing CO₂ emissions, and strengthening digital transparency not because regulations demand it, but because the future demands it.

And this is exactly why we chose to participate in the Global Sustainable Trade Initiative (GSTI).

Why GSTI? Because Real Change Needs Collective Action

The world of trade and industry is shifting quickly. Economic pressures, new legislation, and global sustainability expectations are reshaping how businesses operate. We have always believed that meaningful progress requires more than individual action. It requires sectors to move together.

When GSTI invited us to share our journey, we saw an opportunity to step into a global conversation about responsible trade and climate‑conscious innovation. Their vision mirrors our own: that sustainability must be built into the core of business, not bolted on as an afterthought.

For us, joining GSTI wasn’t a branding exercise. It was a commitment to transparency, collaboration, and leadership at a time when the world needs it most.

What We Brought to the Table

Our engagement with GSTI was a chance to be honest about where we stand – ambitious, evolving, and determined. We spoke about the decisions shaping Horizon 2030 and the practical work behind them.

We discussed how we are:

Redesigning packaging for a circular future

Moving towards recyclable, monomaterial structures and pushing innovation to meet the requirements of the coming decade. Not as a future ambition, but as daily work already happening across our teams.

Reducing emissions through action, not ambition alone

Our journey to cut CO₂e has never been about optics. It is about fundamentally changing what goes into our packaging and how it is made. That means confronting the hard truth: most emissions sit in the supply chain, and real reduction requires real partnerships.

Using digitalisation to bring trust and clarity to the value chain

DigitalChoice is our way of giving packaging a voice. Through digital watermarks, data transparency, and smart identification, we are building a system where information can move as efficiently as goods do.

Driving Change Beyond Our Own Walls

GSTI offered us a platform to communicate our strategy with clarity and confidence. It was an opportunity to present the work behind Horizon 2030 to a global audience, to explain the thinking that guides our decisions, and to demonstrate the commitments we have already set in motion. Sharing our approach in this context reinforces the direction we have chosen and strengthens the transparency we believe is essential for credible sustainability work.

Our participation reflects Horizon 2030 in action, strengthening our commitment to lower emissions, smarter circularity, and clearer, more transparent packaging.
