Wipak strengthens end to end manufacturing planning with RELEX Solutions

We are advancing our end to end manufacturing planning capabilities by partnering with RELEX Solutions, with implementation support from NTT DATA, across our 10 production sites in Europe and China.

As a global manufacturer of flexible packaging for food and medical applications, we manage a portfolio of around 25,000 SKUs. Our operations span multiple production stages, from extrusion to conversion, creating complex interdependencies across sites, materials and planning timelines. Until now, elements of our supply chain planning have relied on manual processes, limiting visibility and coordination across our network.

To address this, we are implementing RELEX’s integrated supply chain and manufacturing planning solution, bringing demand forecasting, inventory optimisation and production planning into one connected system.

At the core of this transformation is machine learning based forecasting, which will provide more accurate and timely demand visibility across our portfolio. This will enable us to make more confident, data driven decisions and better align demand with production and inventory planning.

By connecting these processes, we will be able to optimise stock levels, improve production scheduling and manage our multi site manufacturing network more effectively. We aim to increase forecast accuracy, reduce finished goods inventory and shift stock towards semi finished goods where it creates greater flexibility and value.
>This more connected planning approach will also support improved service levels, lead time reliability and production efficiency, including reducing costly changeovers through more effective production sequencing.

We selected RELEX Solutions for its strong capabilities in manufacturing planning, advanced forecasting and multi stage production environments, as well as its ability to scale across multiple sites. This initiative also builds on an existing relationship within the Wihuri Group.
