The Wipak Group announces a major investment in most modern high barrier film technology in Nastola, Finland. The new production line will allow Wipak Group soon to produce high performance packaging material solutions offering a strong combination of visual, protective and environmental benefits to their customers.

As part of the Finnish family-owned Wihuri Group, Wipak has in its over 40 years of operation grown to become a leading supplier of packaging materials and services in Europe. With a total value of approximately €20 million, this latest investment in a new production line is a step in Wipak Group’s continuous development program targeting to improve performance and increase Wipak Group service levels.

When completed, the new technology will serve Wipak’s customers in both the food and healthcare sectors. The cutting-edge technology used will increase production efficiency and help the Wipak Group to strengthen its position as a leading supplier of high-end barrier film solutions. The new technology will also facilitate a more environmentally friendly process, enabling Wipak to produce functional and safe packaging materials while significantly improving the material yield.
