Our EcoVadis Journey Has Begun and We Are Aiming for Platinum
At Wipak, sustainability is not a side project or a passing trend. It is a strategic priority and a long-term commitment embedded in our Horizon 2030 Strategy.
One of our clear ambitions is to achieve the EcoVadis Platinum Medal by 2030 at group level. This is not just a badge of honour. It is our way of working transparently, measuring progress credibly and continuously improving how we operate across our entire business.
And importantly, this journey has already begun.
What Is EcoVadis and Why Did We Choose It?
EcoVadis is one of the world’s most trusted and widely used sustainability ratings platforms. More than 150,000 companies worldwide are assessed using a structured, evidence-based methodology.
What makes EcoVadis particularly relevant for us is its comprehensive scope. It evaluates performance across four equally important pillars:
- Environment
- Labour and Human Rights
- Ethics
- Sustainable Procurement
This means EcoVadis does not focus on a single topic or headline indicator. It challenges companies to look holistically at how they act, how they source, how they treat people, how they manage risk and how transparently they report.
As regulatory expectations rise, especially around supply chain due diligence, human rights and ethical business conduct, having a structured and credible assessment framework becomes essential. EcoVadis helps us meet these expectations with clarity and confidence.
Our First Steps and Early Momentum
We approached EcoVadis with ambition and humility. Across Wipak, in 2025 all sites completed their assessments, building the foundation for consistent and transparent sustainability performance.
At this early stage, we are already seeing encouraging signals. In this assessment cycle, two sites achieved Silver status and four sites were awarded Bronze, demonstrating strong management systems and commitment to sustainability practices.
This confirms that the foundations are in place. At the same time, EcoVadis makes it very clear where improvements are expected and where we need to accelerate our efforts. That is precisely the value of the process.
Why Is EcoVadis One of Our Horizon 2030 Goals?
EcoVadis plays a central role in how we approach sustainability towards 2030. It supports our ambition not only to act responsibly, but to prove it through data, documentation and measurable progress.
Through EcoVadis, we commit to continuously improving and reporting transparently on:

- Labour practices, workplace safety and employee rights
- Human rights due diligence across our value chain
- Ethical conduct, compliance and integrity
- Responsible sourcing and sustainable procurement

EcoVadis provides a common, internationally recognised framework that allows us to benchmark ourselves globally, across industries and over time. It also gives our customers, partners and stakeholders confidence that our sustainability claims are backed by verified evidence.
Transparency Year by Year
Sustainability is not static. Expectations evolve. Regulations tighten. Stakeholder scrutiny increases. EcoVadis reflects this reality by requiring reassessment and improvement on a regular basis.
Each assessment challenges us to show progress, close gaps and strengthen our management systems. It ensures we do not stand still and that improvements are driven across all sites and functions.
For us, this transparency is not a risk. It is a strength.
Looking Ahead to Platinum
Achieving Platinum means being ranked among the top 1% of companies assessed globally. That is an ambitious target and intentionally so.
Reaching it will require consistent effort, collaboration across teams, engagement with suppliers and an ongoing willingness to improve. It aligns fully with our belief that sustainability leadership cannot be achieved in isolation. We lead sustainability together. EcoVadis is one of the key tools helping us do exactly that. Our journey is underway and we are committed to going the distance.
